The Mobility as a Service (MaaS) project TRota, which offers the option to use various transportation methods such as public transport, car rentals, bicycles, and electric scooters together, has been introduced.

Developed by PTT Teknoloji and the İnnova Consortium and supported by UDHAM, TRota, Turkey's first domestic and national Mobility as a Service project, was introduced at the Project Introduction and Signing Ceremony held on January 25th, Wednesday, at the Main Hall of the Information and Communication Technologies Authority (BTK) Campus.

Deputy Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Ömer Fatih Sayan, in his speech at the ceremony, stated that MaaS is a concept aimed at making transportation more efficient, comfortable, and accessible by integrating various modes of transportation into a single unified system. He continued with the following statements:
“MaaS allows people to use various transportation options such as public transport, car rental, bicycles, and electric scooters together. It also promises to reduce personal vehicle ownership, traffic congestion, time spent in traffic, transportation costs, and environmental pollution. Since MaaS services are generally accessible via a mobile app or website, it enables people to easily meet their transportation needs and preferences.”

Sayan, stating that Konya is the pilot city for the project, highlighted that the goal of the project is to offer alternatives for future journeys and to provide the entire experience—from planning and reservation to payment—through a single application.

Hakan Gülten, in his speech at the ceremony, mentioned that the project was brought to life with the support of PTT Teknoloji, the İnnova Consortium, and the Ulaştırma, Denizcilik ve Haberleşme Araştırmaları Merkezi (UDHAM). He stated that the TRota project aims to provide users with comfortable, safe, efficient, and flexible solutions using real-time data from various transportation modes. Gülten added, "Our goal is to analyze anonymized transportation data obtained through the project to determine transportation policies and plan new investments. We aim to develop a sustainable mobility solution and provide planning, reservation, payment, and navigation services through this application."

Uğur İbrahim Altay, in his speech at the ceremony, stated that the project would further expand Konya’s smart transportation networks and expressed his pleasure that Konya was chosen as the pilot city.

Following the opening speeches, a cooperation agreement was signed between PTT Teknoloji and Konya Büyükşehir Belediyesi, and subsequently, R&D support agreements were signed between UDHAM, PTT Teknoloji, and İnnova.
